Blow Upon My Garden

"Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my Beloved come into His garden, and eat His pleasant fruits.

" ~ Song of Solomon 4:16 ~

Her garden is an enclosed one. Its contents are of royal selection; camphire, spikenard, saffron, calamus, cinnamon, myrrh, aloes, trees of frankincense and plants of the chiefest spices; all this have been tenderly cultivated to the end-- that it might please her Beloved. The seeds planted, the ground watered, she is now yielding the fruits of His love.
"Awake," says she, "awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my Beloved come into His garden, and eat His pleasant fruits." (Song of Solomon 4:16) The smell of her fruits are carried upon the winds to her Beloved. And, as she desired, He comes and partakes of the harvest with her. "I am come into My garden, My sister, My spouse," He responds. "I have gathered My myrrh with My spice; I have eaten My honeycomb with My honey; I have drunk My wine with My milk." (Song of Solomon 5:1)
Her Beloved is pleased and satisfied with her fruit. She is not as the barren fig tree-- no, not she! "He [Jesus] was hungry: And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, He came, if haply He might find any thing thereon: and when He came to it, He found nothing but leaves... And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever." (Mark 11:12-14) When her Royal Beloved is hungry, He can be sure to search her boughs and find fruit.
When plants are disturbed and shaken they become the most fragrant. It is often so with Christians. When the winds of suffering disturb us, our fragrance becomes all the more pungent. Obedience and faith in time of trouble are sacrifices that God is well pleased with. "To obey is better than sacrifice." (1 Samuel 15:22) "Without faith it is impossible to please Him." (Hebrews 11:6) This perfume greets our Beloved's nose, and He draws nigh to us. "Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you." (James 4:8) His presence is our reward.
Let every Christian who names the name of Christ, boldly say with the Shulamite, "Come, winds, come and blow upon my garden, that He Who planted me might partake of His pleasant fruits, for He is worthy."

"Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing."

~ Revelations 5:12 ~

Beloved Garden

is een prachtige tuin

waar het heerlijk vertoeven is,

met kleurrijke

en welriekende bloemen

en het betoverende gezang

van vrolijke vogels.

Beloved Garden:

Een plaats om tot rust te komen.
Een plaats om tot jezelf te komen.
Een plaats om je eens even lekker terug te trekken
en bij te tanken.
En dat doe ik in mijn Beloved Garden
in mijn geliefde tuin.
Heerlijk genieten.
En dat doe je het beste met het Woord van God.
Het boek Hooglied leek mij het beste passend
in mijn Beloved Garden.
